Planet Payment and Trintech Partner to Deliver Secure Multi-Currency Internet Payment to Banks Worldwide

SAN MATEO, Calif. / DUBLIN, Ireland, May 3, 2000 Trintech Group PLC (Nasdaq: TTPA; Neuer Markt: TTP), a leading provider of secure electronic payment infrastructure solutions, today announced an alliance agreement with Planet Payment, a leading provider of multi-currency Internet payment solutions, to deliver secure Internet payment processing capabilities to banks and Internet merchants worldwide.

As the first step in this multi-faceted relationship, Planet Payment is implementing a secure multi-currency Internet Payment transaction solution based on Trintech's PayWare eAcquirer technology. The secure switch will be able to route e-commerce transactions to the more than 100 banking partners in the Trintech and Planet Payment network, allowing these banks to offer secure multi-currency Internet processing services to their merchant bases.

The integration of Trintech's PayWare eAcquirer will allow Planet Payment to more fully service its customers around the world. Planet Payment currently processes transactions for merchants in more than 25 countries, and its merchant base is expected to grow rapidly to include over 100 countries by the end of this year. To further promote the alliance, the parties will focus on joint marketing programs, with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific marketplace.
