 Planet Payment and JourneyPay Start Live Trials of New Mobile Payment Solution

Planet Payment [LSE:AIM: PPTR and PPT], a leading global payment and data processor, and JourneyPay Limited, a transport payments specialist, today announced the start of a four-week pilot of a powerful new mobile payment solution for the taxi industry.

The service, called JourneyPay BuyVoice™, enables taxi drivers to accept credit cards using their current mobile phones, thereby affording taxi passengers the convenience of paying their fare with a credit card. The solution was designed as a fully managed, turnkey solution that combines a user-friendly, natural-speech application with a robust payment platform to create a secure and quick mobile payments solution that is simple for drivers to use.

The JourneyPay BuyVoice service is scheduled for general availability to the London taxi market in January 2007. In addition, JourneyPay and Planet Payment are exploring further opportunities in other transport and mobile merchant segments in Europe, North America and Asia.

This effort expands upon the companies’ May, 2006 announcement of the agreement for JourneyPay to deploy Planet Payment’s innovative FX Assured® service in London taxicabs via JourneyPay’s wireless terminals. With FX Assured, passengers usingVisa® or MasterCard®cards will be able to enjoy the convenience of paying for their fare in their home currency, at an exchange rate that is guaranteed to be better than the effective rate that would have been used by the passenger’s card provider.
